London, a dream destination

On the 10th of February we went to Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport to catch a plane to LONDON. After the usual formalities we were finally up in the air. London greeted us with snow... On the first day, as we were walking through the streets of LEICESTER SQUARE and CHINATOWN, we still couldn’t believe we were in London!!! But this wasn´t merely a holiday! We learned a lot of things!! We saw BIG BEN and the HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT.  At the NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM we saw a female T-Rex and her babies, elephants, scorpions, meteors and gold nuggets.  At the SCIENCE MUSEUM we went to space with Neil Armstrong and the Apollo 11. At the BRITISH MUSEUM we saw Cleopatra, the Lindow man and the Rosetta Stone, which opened doors to new discoveries and civilizations. At the NATIONAL GALLERY we counted Van Gogh’s sunflowers, searched for Da Vinci, said hello to Botticelli and his Venus and Mars, waved to Velasquez and Turner and finally found and sighed at the Virgin of the Rocks. A very uncanny episode took place here. João was playing imaginary drums with an empty bottle of water and a Chinese woman gave him £1! We also saw the CROWN JEWELS at Waterloo Block and we crossed TOWER BRIDGE. The LONDON EYE, the biggest Ferris wheel in Europe, allowed us to see London at sunset and the city seemed to us even more beautiful! We also went to MADAME TUSSAUDS where we saw many famous singers, actors, politicians and even our own Ronaldo. The wax figures were very lifelike. We were quite frightened in the tunnels and we ended our trip with a rather amazing taxi tour which took us through times and the history of the city of London. The Queen surrounded us by light, rhythm and colour while we were watching the musical WE WILL ROCK YOU! On the last day we went to Camden Town, where we lost ourselves amidst all the markets. The mix of lively cultures took us to a world of harmonious existence between beings of all races, beliefs, and colours. We also went to BUCKINGHAM PALACE and guess who we saw there??? Prince Harry!! Aren’t we the lucky ones! It’s not every day that we see someone royally related.
Finally, unfortunately for us, we had to go back to the airport and fly back to Portugal. Behind us there were five days full of unforgettable experiences, wonderful recollections and unique moments that will never ever leave our memories or our hearts. This one was undoubtedly the best trip that we made and we would do it again without a hint of hesitation!!
